Position Title: (Sr) Director, Medical Affairs

General Description:

The Director of Medical Affairs will report to the VP, Clinical and Medical Affairs. The primary focus will be to provide leadership and support of external HCP engagement, insight gathering, data dissemination, scientific messaging and education, and other opportunities for oncology assets, along with leading the MSL and clinical case support group. The role will also advance key opinion leader development in part through a program of investigator-initiated trials (IITs) to grow and strengthen the oncology subject-matter portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the VP, Clinical and Medical Affairs and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to develop and drive key Medical Affairs initiatives aligned with overall business strategy.
Ensure strong alignment across Clinical, Professional Education, Market Access, and Medical Affairs functions.
Lead oncology education, especially regarding ongoing external clinical research updates, to further develop the MSL team.
Develop and lead medical oncology and tumor board engagement programs.
Support commercial program development toward institutionalizing the use of company products.
Provide publications planning, writing support, and review for peer‑reviewed journals, meeting abstracts, and external content.
Engage KOLs on abstract submissions, publications, presentations (slides and posters), and IITs.
Oversee and participate in external engagement/insight gathering, in collaboration with commercial colleagues, to discuss the current and future clinical role of company oncology technologies.
Lead the MSL and clinical case support groups.
Contribute to strategic evidence plan development.
Oversee, with Regulatory, the dissemination of scientific information on unapproved uses (SIUU) and manage off‑label inquiries.
Key contributor to evidence strategy.
Serve as Chair of Grants and Donations and IIT committees.
Oversee requests for off‑label information/support to identify areas of interest for potential expansion of use.
Prioritize and continue to develop a robust IIT program focused on addressing gaps in the oncology portfolio consistent with business priorities.
Represent the company to external partners and stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry collaborators/partners, multi‑disciplinary tumor boards, customers, and the investment community.
Oversee analyses of internal clinical case‑tracking dashboards and reports for data quality, adjudication, internal review, and insight generation, with monthly updates and slide‑deck refreshes.
Medical review of clinical and commercial content intended for external dissemination, in collaboration with Compliance and Legal.
Collaboration to develop core scientific messaging.
Develop internal talent by creating opportunities for scientific, functional, and technical leadership; project responsibilities; matrix leadership; and people management to meet current and future needs.
Provide complaint oversight and review.

Key Requirements

Education and Training

MD or PhD preferred.

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry, or commensurate healthcare or research experience.
Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Experience commercializing medical devices and/or medical equipment.
Previous overall responsibility and accountability across multiple indications preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others internally and externally.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, evolving company and operate with a high sense of urgency.

Domestic travel to collaborate with internal and external partners as needed.
