About Us

Reboot Rx is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing new cancer treatments through the repurposing of FDA-approved generic drugs.

Many generic medications originally developed for other conditions have demonstrated promising evidence for treating cancer. However, once patents expire, the lack of commercial incentives often makes it difficult to fund the clinical trials and regulatory work needed to bring these potential treatments into standard care.

Reboot Rx uses AI-powered evidence synthesis to identify generic drugs with strong clinical evidence for new applications in cancer treatment. Through research collaborations with organizations such as the National Cancer Institute, Veterans Health Administration, and leading cancer centers, Reboot Rx works to advance promising candidates toward clinical evaluation and use.

Its work focuses on three areas:

  • Identify: Analyze medical literature to uncover generic drugs with strong evidence for potential cancer applications.
  • Investigate: Collaborate on research to strengthen the evidence and address knowledge gaps.
  • Inform: Provide clear, objective evidence summaries to support informed clinical decision-making.

Reboot Rx has analyzed more than 500,000 published studies and identified priority candidates for prostate, colorectal, and bladder cancers. Based in the Greater Boston area, the organization works nationally across the United States.

Reboot Rx does not manufacture or sell medications and does not profit from drug sales. Its evidence summaries are designed to present the available data objectively and support informed clinical decisions.
