For nearly 50 years, SEARHC has been providing high-quality healthcare services to the people of Southeast Alaska.
As an independent, nonprofit health consortium, SEARHC offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including primary, urgent, and specialty care; dental services; behavioral health support; wellness programs; optometry; and more. Its mission is centered on improving the health, well-being, and quality of life of the communities it serves.
SEARHC is committed to keeping healthcare close to home while ensuring that patients in Southeast Alaska have access to advanced medical services and technologies. To help make this possible, SEARHC operates specialty clinics and brings medical specialists directly to remote communities and facilities, allowing patients who may not be able to travel to receive the care they need closer to home.
Founded in 1975, SEARHC is one of the largest Native-run healthcare organizations in the United States. In 1976, the organization entered into a contract with the Indian Health Service under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act to manage the Community Health Aide Program.
Today, SEARHC employs more than 1,700 people and serves 27 communities throughout Southeast Alaska. Its healthcare network includes two Critical Access Hospitals, along with a broad range of medical, behavioral health, dental, and wellness services.
