Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Narrative Writer – Oncology to join the Oncology Medical Communications team as a contractor supporting Medical Education & Training. This role is responsible for the development of high-quality, scientifically accurate content aligned with the Medical Affairs strategic plan. The ideal candidate will bring experience in medical writing, a strong understanding of oncology, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver internal and external communication tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-quality internal and external medical resources, including:
- Medical narratives
- Reactive/proactive MSL slide presentations
- Advisory board materials
- Internal training modules
- Congress summaries and reports
- Ensure all content aligns with the Medical Communications strategy and scientific accuracy standards.
- Collaborate with Global and US Medical Affairs teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in deliverables.
- Conduct thorough literature reviews and integrate new publications and congress materials into training and scientific content.
- Follow established review and approval workflows, adhering to Eisai policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage project workflows and timelines across multiple concurrent assignments.
- Maintain and update reference libraries, including cataloging literature and updating internal guides.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree required: PhD, PharmD, or MD.
- Oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical writing or scientific content development experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting.
- Prior experience with Veeva Vault is required.
- Familiarity with developing advisory board content and writing topline or executive summary reports.
- Strong analytical and scientific skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and impactful content.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working with data visualization or analytics tools (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to scientific accuracy and compliance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- Background or research experience in oncology or related therapeutic areas.
- Experience creating core Medical Affairs training modules or similar internal education tools.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle and regulatory environment related to medical communications.
