Base pay range
$315,000.00/yr - $375,000.00/yr
Overview:
We are partnering with an innovative, well-backed clinical & commercial-stage biotech company focused on rare diseases with high unmet need. As the company moves toward potential commercialization of its lead program, they are seeking a Head of Drug Safety to lead and build out the global pharmacovigilance function. This is a high-impact, senior leadership role reporting directly into the executive team, with full ownership of both medical safety and PV operations across clinical and post-marketing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead the global Drug Safety organization
- Oversee all aspects of pharmacovigilance, including safety strategy, case processing, signal detection, and risk management
- Provide medical review and benefit-risk assessments across the product lifecycle
- Serve as the company’s safety expert in interactions with regulatory authorities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial teams
- Ensure full compliance with global safety regulations and internal SOPs
Qualifications:
- MD or equivalent required
- Proven track record in global pharmacovigilance leadership roles, ideally across both development and post-marketing
- Deep understanding of medical safety and PV operations
- Experience leading safety strategy in rare disease, neurology, or endocrine spaces a plus
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on biotech environment
