The Role:
We are seeking a licensed physician to join our growing clinical team and help redefine how obesity and cardiometabolic disease are treated through FlyteHealth’s integrated, outcomes-driven care model. This role focuses on delivering the right care at the right time through evidence-based treatment that addresses obesity, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and related chronic conditions as interconnected drivers of long-term health outcomes.
Physicians at FlyteHealth work within a multidisciplinary, technology-enabled care model that combines personalized treatment plans, behavioral lifestyle modification, and continuous patient engagement to improve outcomes and total cost of care. Providers collaborate closely with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, dietitians, diabetes educators, and health coaches to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
Responsibilities include conducting video-based initial and follow-up visits, evaluating clinical appropriateness for enrollment into FlyteHealth programs, developing individualized care plans, monitoring patient progress, and partnering across the care team to ensure consistent, evidence-based care delivery. This is a fully remote position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing evidence-based, individualized clinical care and a high-quality patient experience
- Reviewing patient questionnaires, laboratory results, and diagnostic testing to support clinical assessments and counseling on weight management physiology and treatment approaches
- Conducting video-based initial and follow-up patient visits to develop and manage care plans
- Prescribing anti-obesity therapies, including pharmacotherapy, and educating patients on treatment expectations and side effects
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team, including RNs, NPs, and RDs, to evaluate, treat, and monitor patients
- Managing patient communications, reviewing labs and diagnostic testing, coordinating referrals, and supporting ongoing follow-up care
- Utilizing and supporting the FlyteHealth Evolve platform to enhance patient engagement and health outcomes
- Assisting with onboarding, provider training, clinical workflow development, and practice expansion initiatives
- Performing additional responsibilities as needed to support clinical operations and patient care
About You:
- Demonstrating compassion, motivation, and commitment to weight management, nutrition, and care for patients with obesity or overweight conditions
- Exhibiting a passion for improving health outcomes and supporting patients in achieving sustainable lifestyle change
- Communicating effectively through strong written and verbal communication skills
- Utilizing technology platforms proficiently, including Microsoft Office, Gmail, videoconferencing tools, VoIP systems, text platforms, and online presentation software
- Leveraging experience with cloud-based EHR systems, with Athena experience preferred
- Learning and utilizing proprietary web-based platforms to support and document patient interactions in compliance with organizational policies and procedures
- Maintaining awareness of emerging trends and evidence related to overweight and obesity care
- Demonstrating openness, cultural sensitivity, and respect for diverse patient populations
- Providing constructive feedback to support continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Understanding service quality standards and performance measurement principles
Required/Preferred Qualifications:
- Holding Board Certification or Board Eligibility as an MD or DO in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, with or without subspecialization
- Demonstrating proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required for clinical care delivery
- Utilizing computer-based data management systems, EMR/EHR technologies, and healthcare information systems, with Athena experience preferred
- Maintaining knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA requirements
- Communicating effectively through strong written and verbal communication skills and a compassionate virtual bedside manner
- Demonstrating knowledge of and interest in weight management, obesity medicine, obesity-related comorbidities, and disease prevention
- Bringing fellowship training in Obesity Medicine preferred
- Holding or pursuing Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) certification preferred
- Maintaining active MD licensure and DEA registration in the state of employment or applicable compact licensure states - Georgia license is highly recommended
