Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Remote Medical Director to lead clinical operations and ensure the highest standards of patient care across our healthcare platform. The ideal candidate must hold an active Practice, Professional Corporation (PC), or Professional Limited Liability Company (PLLC) license in any of the 50 states, enabling seamless oversight of medical services in a remote capacity. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic medical leadership and oversight for clinical programs, ensuring alignment with healthcare standards and organizational goals.
- Supervise and support physicians and healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to HIPAA, FDA regulations, and NCQA standards.
- Oversee electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical records management to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with healthcare laws.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing clinical data, implementing best practices, and promoting continuous process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, DEA regulations, and healthcare accreditation standards through rigorous monitoring and staff training.
- Collaborate on clinical research projects to advance medical knowledge and improve treatment protocols within the organization’s scope.
- Manage utilization management processes to optimize patient outcomes while controlling costs in accordance with managed care principles.
- Provide teaching, mentorship, and academic leadership to medical staff, fostering professional development and clinical excellence.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with post-residency experience in a clinical setting; prior hospital experience is highly desirable.
- Active medical license (Practice or PC/PLLC) in any of the 50 states; must be in good standing with no restrictions.
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical development processes.
- Proven expertise in EMR/EHR systems, electronic health records management, and healthcare IT platforms.
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations, healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA, NCQA standards, and drug enforcement regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in medical management, academic settings, or executive roles within healthcare organizations.
- Skilled in project management, budgeting, supervision of medical staff, and practice management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a focus on patient care quality.
