Position Overview
The Telemedicine Physician provides virtual primary care services to patients residing in skilled nursing facilities. This role is responsible for delivering high quality clinical care through telehealth, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and supporting facility teams through timely medical decision making.
This position requires strong clinical judgment, efficiency in a virtual care environment, and the ability to manage patient care across multiple facilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provide virtual medical care to patients in skilled nursing facilities using telemedicine technology
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions including infections, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, and other common SNF diagnoses
- Serve as the primary physician for assigned patients, ensuring continuity and quality of care
- Provide clinical guidance and direction to nursing staff and facility teams as needed
- Respond to changes in patient condition and provide timely medical recommendations
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the EMR system
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to clinical and regulatory standards
- Support consistent and reliable physician coverage through a structured telemedicine model
Compensation
- Compensation ranges approximately from $900 -$1,100.00 per day
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Medical License in the state of Illinois
- Experience in post-acute care, geriatrics, or skilled nursing facilities preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge of chronic disease management and acute care
- Experience with telemedicine platforms and electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with facility staff remotely
