About the job
About Labela
Labela is a community of doctors and life science experts helping push the frontier of AI. We work with leading AI teams to improve the quality, safety, and real-world usefulness of models across healthcare and science.
Our experts contribute deep domain judgment to some of the most important problems in AI—from evaluating model performance to shaping better clinical reasoning, safer outputs, and more reliable healthcare applications.
About the Role
We’re looking for Family Medicine Physicians with broad clinical experience to join our expert community. In this role, you will contribute to projects focused on evaluating and improving medical AI systems designed for primary care and longitudinal patient management.
As a Family Medicine expert, you will review a wide array of clinical queries, assess model-generated advice for patients across the lifespan, and help define what high-quality, evidence-based primary care looks like in an AI context. This is a strong fit for physicians who are detail-oriented, value the "biopsychosocial" model of care, and are excited about the future of AI in the clinic.
What You’ll Do
- Review Primary Care Scenarios: Analyze prompts and AI-generated responses related to chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and acute outpatient concerns.
- Assess Clinical Nuance: Evaluate outputs for clinical accuracy, safety, and the ability to handle multi-morbidities or undifferentiated symptoms.
- Define Quality Standards: Help establish criteria for strong responses in health maintenance (screening, vaccinations), lifestyle counseling, and common outpatient diagnoses.
- Identify Safety Issues: Flag incorrect, unsafe, or overly vague clinical information that could impact patient outcomes.
- Develop Training Data: Support the creation of benchmarks and evaluations for AI systems focused on the bread-and-butter of Family Medicine.
Who We’re Looking For
- MD or DO with residency training in Family Medicine.
- Broad Clinical Experience: Comfortable evaluating a wide range of topics, from pediatrics and women’s health to geriatrics and behavioral health.
- Current Standards of Care: Deep familiarity with USPSTF guidelines and evidence-based management of chronic conditions (e.g., HTN, Diabetes, Depression).
- Active clinical license preferred.
- Strong Communication: Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback on complex clinical reasoning.
- Remote Proficiency: Comfort working independently in a remote, digital environment.
- Board-Certified
Nice to Have
- Experience with longitudinal patient management and care coordination.
- Prior experience in clinical quality review, medical writing, or health informatics.
- A background in medical education or explaining complex concepts to patients in plain language.
- An interest in how AI can reduce administrative burden or improve the "patient-centered medical home" model.
Why Join Labela
- Flexible & Remote: Project-based work that complements your clinical schedule.
- Expert Community: Work alongside a community of physicians and life science experts.
- Direct Impact: Help ensure the next generation of medical AI is safe, effective, and helpful for both doctors and patients.
To Apply
Please apply with your background, years of clinical experience, licensure status, and any relevant experience in clinical review, medical writing, or AI-related work.
