For our client, we are seeking a Supervisory Medical Director National Physical Health Appeals Outpatient UM to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will support clinical priorities focused on quality, patient-centered outcomes, and effective care delivery. You will collaborate with clinical leaders, operational teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve standards, workflows, and execution. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen care quality, team performance, and measurable outcomes within a healthcare environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $236,500 – $449,300 annually
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and mentorship for front-line medical directors
- Participate in creating and updating medical director training programs
- Support strategic clinical initiatives led by the CMO and Sr. Medical Director
- Engage in utilization review studies and performance management
- Handle complex utilization management cases for timely decision-making
- Conduct case escalation reviews and resolve disputes with providers
- Oversee the appeals process ensuring compliance with regulations
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) from an accredited medical school required
- Master's Degree (MBA, MPH, or epidemiologist degree) preferred
- 5+ years of managed care/clinical experience required
- 1+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred
- Board certification in a recognized medical specialty required
- Current state license as a MD or DO without restrictions
