For our client, we are seeking a Senior Medical Director, Health Plan to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space.
This senior clinical leader will shape health plan strategy with a strong focus on improving member outcomes, advancing population health, and supporting high-quality, compliant care delivery. The role partners closely with executive leadership, analytics, provider network teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive clinical performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep managed care and population health experience, along with the judgment to guide utilization management and quality improvement efforts in a complex healthcare environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $320,000 – $350,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute clinical strategies to improve member outcomes
- Serve as a clinical advisor to senior executives and cross-functional teams
- Oversee utilization management programs and ensure compliant decision-making
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and partner with analytics teams
- Support the development of population health programs
- Collaborate with provider network teams to enhance clinical performance
- Represent the health plan in external meetings and committees
Qualifications
- Doctorate in a related field required
- Must hold or be able to obtain a Massachusetts physician license
- 3-5 years of health plan experience
- 5-7 years in a managed care or population health leadership role
- 8-10+ years of clinical experience
